This beginner-level course introduces students to the fundamentals of Pre-Visualization (Pre-Viz) using Unity, a real-time 3D engine widely used in filmmaking, animation, virtual production, architecture, and game development. The course focuses on using Unity to create pre-visualized scenes that help directors, cinematographers, designers, and production teams plan shots, camera movements, lighting, and scene layouts before actual production.
Students will learn the Unity interface, scene creation, asset management, terrain creation, lighting, cameras, animation basics, timeline, Cinemachine, and simple real-time rendering techniques. Through hands-on exercises and mini projects, participants will develop pre-visualization sequences that demonstrate storytelling, camera planning, and virtual scene development.
By the end of the course, students will be able to create simple pre-visualization scenes and cinematic sequences using Unity's real-time workflow.
